If so, I'm honored. :)

Yesterday, we heard from Congress how dire the financial crisis is, how not voting for the bailout would bring about another Great Depression. Some even said it would effectively be the end of the world as we know it. The bill failed yesterday. Today, we would expect to see Congress scrambling to come up with a solution or compromise, working through the night. We would expect to see the markets tanking at a record pace. Instead, the markets are stable and Congress is on a two-day vacation. That's right, it's Rosh Hashanah. Congress has worked on holidays before but decided they could wait until later in the week to work on the imminent crisis. I went to a meeting at my church last night where foster care was discussed. There are 800 children in foster care in the state of Colorado. What if 800 Colorado churches each found one family to adopt one child? That is exactly what was discussed last night. Focus on the Family is partnering with local churches, including my own, to virtually eliminate Colorado foster care in 2009. I'll post more details as they're available. Anybody else ready to move on? I am getting there. If you don't know who Dave Ramsey is you seriously need to find out. Go to www.daveramsey.com and listen to a few of his radio show archives. It will change your life. Here's his plan. The release of the album is tonight. It's part of the ENTER worship conference. Here is the story of the song "Overcome" and the song itself. I'm in the choir somewhere. Do you see me? :) The plan in Congress is going to cost $700 billion and we're sending $700 billion overseas each year to purchase foreign oil. Hmm... |
